Nintendo to Bring “Wii Fit” to iOS, Android this Fall

Wii Fit was brought back to the forefront of fitness gaming this past weekend. In a closed press event late Saturday evening, Nintendo UK announced they will be bringing the Japanese video game juggernaut’s popular Wii Fit franchise to the iOS and Android mobile platforms this fall.

During the announcement, Nintendo UK general manager Simon Kemp showcased the game’s ability to use the latest in mobile device technology to duplicate the Wii Fit experience.

“What’s amazing is that we’ve been able to squeeze everything down to fit on a smartphone without compromising the play experience. You can literally play this anywhere. On the bus, at work, even in the bathroom for a quick fitness break”, Kemp told reporters.

The game is expected to be released in time to combat the annual American Halloween obesity epidemic.
