Gearbox Panel At PAX East Actually Just A Dress Up Party
Gearbox Software, the studio behind the Borderlands franchise, had a big panel at this past PAX East. It wasn’t your typical panel; it was actually a Borderlands dress up party.
“Our games are the best out there, and we want to prove it by having as many people as we can dress up like our characters and then go roam the convention,” a high ranking executive at Gearbox Software said. “We want our characters out there, and the people coming to our panels want to look like our characters. It’s a win-win situation when you really look at it,” he proceeded. The panel, which had free food and countless wardrobes in every size, packed out the main theater of the Boston Convention and Expo Center.
“It’s awesome!” one attendee at the panel told us. “I’ve always wanted to be Claptrap and now Gearbox is going to stick me into a box on wheels for free. It’s a dream come true!” We’ve seen everything from a gaggle of Psychos to a herd of Tiny Tinas. Prior to leaving the panel, Gearbox had some final words: “Blizzard thinks they’re such hot shit with their new games and huge lines… Well suck it Blizzard; we’re gonna have an army walking around out there. We will be the most popular company at PAX East!”
We will report further as the conflict escalates at other conventions.
